Missionary Tasks are Great

It is that easy. It is hard to describe the actual in-describable. Many times people think that the actual reason for the trip is for the heathens of the world yet it is so much more than that. Individually, I have been on about 8 trips and each one is different. It is very true that God functions in mysterious ways. In fact he works in all of our lives but most of the time we cannot see beyond our own selfless world.

I can honestly state that I have met people and that i knew without a doubt that I had been sent to sit with them, encourage them, help them, and assistance them. Many times people with requirements are too proud to ask for that kind of help but when somebody shows up in a working environment or even a simple praise time. That small amount of time can have a huge impact in that person's life.

Unfortunately, not everyone can go. Many times there are people who believe they have squandered their lives because they did not pursue missions of some sort. Instead, they placed their resources, such as money, in other people and projects for the greater good. They diligently arrived at the church service where the returning reports and recommendations are given, sit and pay attention. They rejoice in silence.

Recently, I met one such person. She is a retired lady in the church and the woman's husband is confined to an elderly care facility. But she has that shine in her eye when the reviews come back and I am VERY certain that she is one of the silent providers to our many trips. The positive attitude, smiles, and straightforward gifts of food given for the departing trip were always thought of as being sweet. But there was so much more than which.

No matter what the gift. All of us usually take them for granted till God puts it in to perspective for us.

So even though we travel to far off places to reach people that probably do not know God. There are others which benefit too even though they don't board the plane.

They might have some reservations about past paths but I feel they're blessed in as much, or even more, than me.

The second individual concerning missions came out of the blue to me. But I was past too far to respond. This man would be a meticulous person. A very comprehensive and analytical thinker. I thought he were very deliberate in each and every thing he did but missions? No way!

As it turned out. He too went to the actual church services for the reports and testimonies. And such as others sat there as well as absorbed the moment. He requested questions, looked at their souvenirs and marveled at their seeing stories. But he by no means went on a trip.

It was not till his funeral that I learned of his passion for the mission field. I heard the stories of how money was required so he setup a special fund so groups would not have to worry about not having enough. He made it happen for them during those short falls within cash and stayed totally anonymous.

He even contributed to my trips when mine looked impossible. I wish I could thank him now. If only I knew then things i know now.

Thanks Dad!
