There are many marketing methods, but podcasting remains a powerful approach. So many people skip straight from text to video and leave out audio and podcasting. The truth is that any audience can be a good audience. Do you have any ideas as to why this is a fact? It's so easy to pass them around because all you need is an mp3 player. Podcasts represent the ultimate in portability, and maybe the only other thing that comes close is a book. So, it's our pleasure to reveal a couple of effective podcasting strategies that you can put to use right away.
People do not want to be bored or feel that they're wasting time with you - be direct. There are no imposed time limitations, so that's something you don't have to worry about. People hate filler material because it wastes time, so don't give them any in your podcasts. Based on feedback, you'll want to stick to something short, but just don't make it terribly long. You just need to share your information. Be sure to minimize the small, useless chatter to near zero. Forcing yourself to cut out the extra stuff also forces you to focus on making your message good. Find the quietest room to record in. Remember you'll do final audio editing, real easy, and you can filter or cut out noise spikes, etc. Maybe time your recordings when you know other people will not be around, etc. You'll find as you do more of it that when it's quiet your voice will sound a bit more clear. Where there is a lot of background noise there are a lot of distractions!
Make sure that your content is original. Using material from other people is acceptable, but as in any other medium you'll need to give a proper reference. It would probably be best if you did some research regarding giving proper credit involving copyrights.
When you do point out something from someone else, you'll want to explain why you're talking about it. But always keep in mind that this is your podcast, so don't rely too heavily on someone else. Podcasting is a proven and tremendous method for business promotion. You'll need to build a good relationship with the people who trust you, and if you can do that then you're almost home. But that does take effort, work, and time. But just like anything else, if you're willing to do what is necessary, then you can reap the rewards.
