When you have your own garden, there are many things you can do to make it more original and creative. You may prefer a traditional, orderly garden - and that's great - everyone has their own preferences. You might enjoy, nevertheless, trying out different techniques to develop your own unique garden. The purpose of this report is to light a fire under your creativity by giving you some ideas on different techniques you can use.

You can make a garden in a small area, but it is not easy. There is a way to put your plants in a glass container or a terrarium, when the room for your garden is too small. A herb garden is perfect for a terrarium, and this can be a very attractive indoor garden. Not having to water the herbs as often, because the moisture is retained in the enclosed environment, gives an advantage to this type of garden. Your terrarium can be a large aquarium, which you use for plants instead of fish, or small containers made of glass. This kind of garden can be managed easier, when you choose smaller herbs.

Here are a few options that you can consider if you want to grow and herbal garden. Topiary design can be implemented, making your plants look like objects or animals, when you grow herbs in your greenhouse. Expert status is not necessary in that you can practice your topiary design techniques as you go.

It is not necessary to strive for perfection when doing this type of gardening artwork. Simply develop your own style as you continue to practice and give them an interesting shape - that's all it takes. There are also knot herb gardens, where the herbs are trimmed in a way that creates knots or other geometric patterns. Herbs such as lavender, chamomile and thyme are good choices for this type of garden. Over time, you will learn to create magnificent artistic renditions of objects and animals. Just keep practicing and you will do very well.

Another popular type of garden is the native garden for various reasons. These gardens can only have local plants in them. This is not as simple as it sounds, because many plants have been introduced from other places in the last few hundred years, but these still can't be considered native. Thus, plants brought in by settlers would not count - only those that are indigenous to North America. The advantage to this type of gardening is that these will be plants that will grow most easily in your area. The type of plants that you use will be found after
you do research on locating exactly where they are.

Creative gardening is definitely something most people enjoy doing. There are many different ways to do this beyond the scope of this article. Creative gardening begins with thinking of an idea, and utilizing your basic gardening skills to create your masterpiece. Every element of your garden, including separations between plants, surrounding decor and of course the plants themselves, adds to the appearance and style of your garden.
