Of course you know there are many reason a man begins losing his hair. There isn't much that can be done to impact some of these causes even with personal effort. You are doomed to go bald if your genetics decide it's for you and no amount of protein can change that. Many don't realize just how much of an impact proper hair care can have. Maintaining a regular regimen of hair healthy practices can help you minimize the effects of preventable hair loss. In this article we discuss a few things you should do to have the best hair possible for as long as you can.

Many articles and some doctors too will tell you not to wash your hair and scalp everyday. The reason for this is that when you wash you are washing away the essential oils your hair needs to stay healthy and strong. Simply unbelievable is the fact that this only protects the existing hair and has no bearing on the new growth. This does not however promote scalp health. Washing every day with a mild shampoo will promote a healthy scalp. Chemicalized or extremely strong shampoos are not necessary and in fact can be bad on your scalp and hair. Take care or your scalp first and then focus on hair last to help prevent hair loss in men.

Stereotypically, men dye their hair less often than women. That does not mean, however, that men do not use hair dye to change the appearance of their hair. You should already realize that coloring your hair is bad for it (and for your scalp). Hair color beats down the proteins and fibers found in your hair. It can also get into the pores in your scalp. This can cause your pores and hair follicles to be clogged, which can give you hair loss and interrupt your hair growth. The hair you do have becomes more fragile and is easier to break or accidentally pull out.

Perming your hair is probably the absolute worst thing in the world that you can do to your hair and to your scalp. The chemicals used in putting together permanent curls are so harsh to your scalp that quite often people who get permanents find it necessary to wear at hat or bonnet. Anything that requires such harmful chemicals cannot be good for your hair or your body. If you are interested in preventing men's hair loss, don't get a permanent. Fortunately, these hairstyles are quickly becoming less trendy. There are more sophisticated and safer techniques for curling your hair if that is the look you yearn for.

It is imperative to understand proper hair care. It may not stop your hair loss but it can definately minimize the effects. You should continue caring or your hair and scalp despite your loss or thinning. Another reason to pay extra attention to your scalp and hair is that sometimes it can be enough to prevent hair loss. Your hair loss may not be hereditary. Some of it is caused by skin conditions. Using the steps above can prevent these.
