Decorating your home is a project that can quickly turn from reasonably priced to "oh my gosh, it's how much?" It is easy to get carried away with your "vision" for your home and forget to watch your spending. Don't worry too much if you don't have a lot of money to use on your home decorating project. Even if you don't have a lot of money to spend you can still create a wonderful decorating scheme.
Read on to get a few tips for cheap and great looking d?cor!
Don't worry about going to galleries for your art. Don't worry about buying original art just yet (though you could always make it yourself). Track down some prints of your favorite pieces of art. Prints are quite a lot cheaper than original pieces. They are easier on your budget, they are easier to transport home and they are easier to hang yourself. Most prints are created in easy to frame sizes so you won't even need to have the work professionally framed (another budget saver)! You can save money on framing by buying a frame that is on sale and framing the print yourself. You can do this on the weekend or the evenings and you won't have to worry about rushing to pick up your art before the framer closes and you won't have to worry about how you are going to afford that painting you love so much by your favorite artist. If you must have original works of art, create them yourself! Can you think of a better way to fill your home with original art than to make it yourself? The cost of art supplies is usually quite a lot lower than the cost of a finished piece of art. You can make your own art in your spare time, you don't have to do it all at once. Get your family in on the fun by letting them create things to display. Have your children paint, draw and sculpt stuff for their bedrooms. Check out a few "how to draw" books from the library and you're on your way! Then, when someone comes over and says "wow, who did that great painting?" You can say proudly "I did!"
Check the classified ads in your area or use online classified sites like Craigslist. People are always selling home decorations for low prices through these sites. You might even be able to decorate your entire house by just spending a few hours looking through these types of websites and contacting sellers. It might even be easier for you to put your own ad up on Craigslist that talks about your decorating ideas and asks for help. Placing your own ad could save hours of surfing time because it will give buyers a way to find you. Remember to be careful! It is a good idea to thoroughly inspect each item you want to buy before actually handing over cash for it. Decorating a home does not have to be expensive. You don't have to spend a lot of time doing it. Decorating your home should be fun! You won't be able to enjoy your home's d?cor if all you can think about is how much time it cost you and how much money you spent on the project.
